Sir Paul’s new single? … Nothing new…
By this, I endeavor to pay the man the greatest compliment on his life’s work.
“New” is simply a good ballad as only Sir Paul knows how to write and perform them. Catchy tune, good lyrics and, age aside, great performance. Of the “Fab Four”, I’ve always found Paul to be the best lyricist, music composer and most charismatic performer. You can tell that he sings from the heart and greatly enjoys what he does. Even in the sixties, he never much got into the “hippie” movement, protest songs and the desolate whining and blah, blah, blah about the Establishment. He loved the crowd and the crowd loved him back. It was his easy, “devilmaycare” approach to Music that won him the fame that he still enjoys today. His work is a mixture of “Rock” with, some times, a touch of symphonic experimentation with his “Brit” signature.
And, at his age, he still looks good and carries the show with more drive than you would expect from performers in their later years. No offense intended, but, I’ve seen some of the old Rock groups and performers. I regret to say that many should retire. I compare some of those old, tired and worn-out performers to a production of “Return of the Walking Dead”.
Should Sir Paul retire? Perhaps. If he wishes to kick-back and lazy it up. But, somehow, I don’t see him enjoying that type of lifestyle. I believe that, if he suddenly sotpped what he’s doing right now, the very boredom would shorten his longevity to a great degree(if you catch my drift).
Long live, Sir Paul. But, do sit for a spell now and then and enjoy a “spot’o'tea” while you conjure up new concoctions for your ever loving fans’ delight…
Rock’on, Sir Paul…
